Meowy Jane is owned by a husband-and-wife team that has been cultivating and supplying medical cannabis to patients in Maine since 2013.
We are working on shifting our medical cannabis grow for adult-use, and have an adult-use retail store in downtown Portland.

Be kind, always! The Cultivation Technician is responsible for assisting with and ensuring the healthy growth of our cannabis plants in all stages and aspects.
This includes, but is not limited to plant health, plant maintenance, closely monitoring environment and irrigation, fertilization, IPM, facility maintenance, environmental data collection and reporting, and crop steering.
To ensure success as the Cultivation Technician, you should have excellent knowledge of the cannabis plant and the ability to identify and respond to any issues that arise during production or cultivation.
Ultimately, a top-notch Cultivation Technician should have a green thumb and a genuine love of gardening and plants.
The Cultivation Technician is responsible for remaining in compliance with the Office of Marijuana Policy, as well as Meowy Jane's Standard Operating Procedures.
They are expected to follow the direction of the Operations Manager on all tasks.

Essential Responsibilities Include:
Working closely with the Operations Manager to execute all aspects of production, including (but not limited to) cloning and clone maintenance, transplanting, pruning, defoliating, cleaning, facility maintenance, IPM, fertigation, collecting and recording data, harvesting Staying consistent with planned batch schedules Prepare and maintain growing spaces in accordance with established guidelines Monitor growing conditions and review changes in humidity, moisture and temperature to ensure quality control standards Execute planned batch tasks to maintain the health and vigor of plants at the various stages of production Utilize daily observation to effectively monitor plant health (i.
e.
, disease and pest concerns) Work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity Maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times The ideal candidate will have:

Strong ability to critically think, prioritize tasks, and problem solve under pressure Strong project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under time constraints as necessary.
Knowledge of crop management and commercial agriculture.
Eagerness to learn an intimate understanding of crop steering, operations of automated systems, and interval pest management practices to grow healthy cannabis plants at scale to maximize crop yields Experience managing plant health and facility cleanliness.
Knowledge of plant diseases, pests and health.
Troubleshooting, business-sense, and leadership skills.
Ability to speak clearly and effectively with leadership team.
Competency with technology.
Must be able to use computers/smartphones, and applications like Agricultural software, Google Drive, Email, Excel, etc.
This candidate will:
Work collaboratively with the team while maintaining a friendly and energetic working environment for all staff and contractors Work to build and maintain a strong culture within the department of accountability, efficiency, respect, professionalism, and dedication.
Oversee the cultivation procedures and nutrient protocols, keep accurate records, and present the results in a timely manner to the appropriate leadership members Maintains cultivation data including, but not limited to, environmental conditions, harvest records, cure records, and spray records.
Manage cleanliness and organization of all equipment present within the grow operation.
Works directly with assigned members of the leadership team to ensure the quantity, mix and yield of strains planted and produced will support sales and production goals.
Assists with planning, development, and implementation of SOPs (standard operating procedures) for all cultivation daily processes.
Have the ability to work in hot and humid conditions for long periods of time.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the U.
S Must currently be a Maine resident with current valid Maine ID, or must be able to acquire one.
Must be able to pass a state-mandated background check.
Must have reliable transportation.
Bachelor's Degree (Preferred) 2 Years of Agricultural Experience (Preferred) Cannabis cultivation experience (Preferred) Acute attention to detail - every small task amounts to a successful crop! Doing whatever it takes to get the job done with a small group of people who work closely together Bachelor's degree in plant biology, physiology, biological sciences, agricultural sciences, or equivalent experience preferred.
This position has a 90-day trial period to ensure this candidate is the right fit for the team.

This position is located in Standish, Maine.
Working remotely is not an option, unless you have telekinesis and can take care of the plants from your home.
